Siemens launches new 3G handset with Symbian OS

Siemens today announced the U15, a new W-CDMA handset, at an event in Vienna. The U15 features dual VGA video cameras, the ability to video conference in real-time and receive streaming music and video. It is Siemens' second 3G handset, following the company's decision to release a Siemens-branded version of the Motorola A820.

It also claims a standby time of 250 hours and a talk time of 110 minutes. It supports Bluetooth, USB and infrared and has 64 Mb of memory. Software features include Java support, multimedia messaging, e-mail, PIM, video and audio players, SyncML and a WAP 2.0 browser.
