AT&T Wireless rolls out Motorola-Microsoft phone

AT&T Wireless Services Inc. , the No. 3 U.S. wireless telephone company, on Tuesday said Motorola Inc.'s first mobile phone ($299) powered by Microsoft Corp. software was now available nationwide.

The Motorola MPx200 phone is the first Microsoft-powered "smartphone" -- phones with computer functions -- in the United States.

The phone allows customers to synchronize e-mails, calendar and contacts on their phones with Microsoft's desktop computer software. The device can also play music and video clips and browse the Internet.
