Nvidia launches new performance graphics chip
Nvidia said the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, formerly known by its code name "NV 35," would begin to appear on retail shelves as soon as next month with its .13 micron manufacturing process, AGP 8X interface and DirectX 9.0 standards compliance. Cards based on the chip are expected to begin appearing at retail in June with a list price of $499. They will boast a 450 megahertz core speed, with a clock speed of 850 megahertz on the 256 megabytes of RAM on the board.
