Graduate School of Journalism -- Syndicated News Feeds
Syndicated News Feeds
Some project web sites published at the J-School are also available as syndicated RSS/XML news feeds.
What is RSS?
RSS, or Rich Site Summary, is a mechanism for publishing story excerpts, headlines, and URLs in a strict XML format that can be read by computer software called a "feed reader" or "RSS news reader." Many people find that using a feed reader saves time by allowing them to see what's being published on many sites at once, rather than surfing to sites sequentially. J.D. Lasica of the Online Journalism Review has written an excellent overview of RSS, titled News That Comes to You.
