What is RSS?
RSS, or Rich Site Summary, is a mechanism for publishing story excerpts, headlines, and URLs in a strict XML format that can be read by computer software called a "feed reader" or "RSS news reader." Many people find that using a feed reader saves time by allowing them to see what's being published on many sites at once, rather than surfing to sites sequentially. J.D.
